Who can attend a USSI camp?

USSI run programs for boys and girls aged 3-14. Our Sports Squirts program caters for children aged 3 to 5 year olds, while the Multi Sports and Individual Sports Camps are for children 5 to 14 years old.

To ensure a 5 year old and a 12 year old get the same enjoyable camp experience, USSI has an extensive 120 page coaching manual that is structured to challenge children of all ages. The innovative games encourage maximum participation in each of the sports and allows all children to learn while having fun.

What skill level are your programs catered for?
All programs are aimed at the beginner to intermediate level. Our goal is to inspire and motivate each child so that they find sports enjoyable and rewarding regardless of their ability.  Our priority is to ensure that every child feels unique and valued. A USSI camp is about gaining self-confidence and social skills through sports and activities that encourage and inspire. Most importantly we will guarantee that all children on a USSI camp will have fun!
Who will be coaching the children?

USSI selects the best coaches not only from the UK, but from around the world, including countries such as Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand and South Africa , making it a unique and exciting experience for all children involved. USSI receives thousands of applications every year for our coaching positions allowing us to select only the best and most capable coaches to run our programs.

USSI has a thorough interview process to ensure that all coaches are suitable to work with all levels of children. All staff possess a minimum of 3 years coaching experience in sports, education and/or training and have to undergo a thorough criminal background check.  You will not find any High School students coaching at a USSI camp, only professional coaches.

How does USSI maintain standards on camp?

Prior to the commencement of all programs,  ALL USSI coaching staff must complete an intensive 6 day orientation, where only the strong will survive!  Every USSI camp is inspected on at least two occasions during the week by management staff. On each inspection all staff members will be evaluated. This enables us to maintain and improve the high standard of coaching and care that we guarantee on all of our programs.

What does USSI need from me to run a program?

In order to run a program USSI requires the use of a field for a one week period. USSI can take care of all administrative work, promotions and provide all equipment making it a headache free program for you.

USSI encourages Recreational professionals to be involved and be part of the program and we appreciate any assistance you can give us to make your program a success in your community.

Does USSI provide all equipment?

USSI provides ALL equipment for ALL sports.  Children are not required to bring anything to a USSI camp*  USSI equipment is specially designed for use by children so it is lightweight and easy to use, giving maximum success and enjoyment. *exception is the tennis camp, where children must provide a racket

I already run a summer recreation program, why should I do this?

USSI is not looking to compete with your current Recreation Program, but compliment the offerings you already have.

USSI can offer your community a variety of sports camps and programs, giving children the opportunity to participate in diverse and exciting sports which they normally would not have the chance to do.

How will I know the program is a success?

Upon completion of the program, USSI will give you copies of the attendance rosters and parent feedback.  USSI encourages all Recreation Directors or Program Coordinators to visit the camp during the week, and your USSI Regional Director is always available to meet you to discuss specifics.

What do I receive from the program?
USSI is looking to build a relationship with you and your community and we are happy to pay you a field fee for the use of the facility.  If  you have no fee structure in place , USSI will make a donation back to your community.
What facilities do I need to run a USSI program?

In order to run a program, USSI requires at a minimum the use of a soccer sized field. If your facility has tennis courts and a basketball court this would be ideal. The use of a gym in case of inclement weather is a great provision, but is not necessary.

USSI can adapt the curriculum and provide equipment to make each sport work regardless of what facilities you have available.
Is USSI fully insured?
Yes.  USSI has liability coverage up to $3,000,000. Your organization will be listed as an additional insured and a copy of the certificate will be sent to you prior to your camp or program  starting.
